Tariq Lamptey during his debut for Fiorentina

Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey made his Fiorentina debut after coming off the bench in the match against champions SSC Napoli at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.

The 24-year-old replaced Pietro Comuzzo as La Viola pushed for another goal, moments after Luca Ranieri had pulled one back for the hosts.

In a dominant first-half display by the champions, former Manchester City captain Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for Napoli from the spot in the 6th minute.

Eight minutes later, on-loan Manchester United forward Rasmus Højlund registered his first goal for the club before Sam Beukema added a third six minutes after the break.

Despite Fiorentina’s late push, Stefano Pioli’s men could not match the strength of Antonio Conte’s side.

Lamptey will now be hoping to gain more game time after an impressive cameo. He joined the Italian outfit in the summer transfer window from Brighton & Hove Albion.
