T-beams launched as Tetteh Quarshie interchange expansion works progress

Work on the expansion of the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange is progressing steadily as engineers successfully launched three additional T-beams on Sunday during ongoing bridge expansion works along the N1 Highway.

According to the Acting Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Highway Authority, Cecil Nii Obodai Wentum, the successful installation of the beams on the second day of operations marks a key stage in the project.

He explained that the beam launching forms a critical part of the bridge expansion works and is being carried out carefully by the contractor and project consultants under the close supervision of engineers from the authority.

During the operations, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, who is also the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, paid an unannounced visit to the project site to observe progress and interact with engineers and workers on duty.

The minister commended the project teams for their commitment and encouraged them to maintain the high standards being demonstrated in the execution of the work.

Mr Wentum noted that the Public Affairs Division of the highway authority continues to keep motorists and the public informed about the project and the temporary traffic management measures introduced to ensure safety during the beam launching operations.

He expressed appreciation to motorists and the general public for their cooperation as work continues to improve traffic flow and mobility along the busy corridor.

The expansion project is expected to ease congestion and enhance movement along the N1 Highway once completed.
