Sydney grinds to a halt after two major incidents on our busiest motorways

By ANTOINETTE MILIENOS FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

    Published: 22:01 EDT, 2 June 2025 | Updated: 22:09 EDT, 2 June 2025

A major Sydney motorway has come to a grinding halt after a truck rolled over inside a tunnel blocking traffic travelling towards the city.

The incident occurred at about 11.30am on Tuesday when a truck rolled over while travelling eastbound in the M5 tunnel.

It’s understood the driver exited the vehicle after it crashed and escaped the wreckage with only minor injuries.

Citybound motorists are being diverted onto King Georges Rd off-ramp to use D5 detour.

Allow extra travel time as traffic is heavy.
