Switzerland’s Ambassador to Ghana, Simone Giger, has congratulated winners of the National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship and expressed hope they will make the nation proud on the international stage.
The Ambassador made the remarks when officials of the Ghana Boxing Federation, led by President Dauda Fuseni, paid a courtesy call on her at her residence in Accra.
Giger admitted she was not previously a fan of boxing but developed a strong appreciation for the sport after witnessing a bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena. She praised the Black Bombers for delivering thrilling performances that captured her interest.
The visit forms part of the federation’s broader efforts to build international partnerships and attract support for the growth of boxing in Ghana. Officials believe such engagements will help create opportunities for local boxers to excel globally.
