Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka is the Minister for Interior Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka is the Minister for Interior

The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has cautioned the public, particularly those who use social media and online platforms to “create panic and fear”, to stop or face the law.

He disclosed that our security agencies have been equipped to deal with such issues.

The minister said this during the commissioning of the new Volta Regional Command of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) in Ho on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The new facility is equipped with advanced surveillance systems, analytical tools, and real-time data equipment, positioning it as a critical hub for intelligence gathering and enhancing the speed of security responses in the region.

According to him, the NSB’s expanded regional presence—which follows the opening of the Eastern Regional Office in Koforidua in September—is systematically closing intelligence gaps nationwide.

He also announced that other offices would be opened in Sunyani and Techiman to serve the Bono and Bono East regions.

“According to him, four new regional commands are expected to be operational by the end of the year, bringing intelligence support closer to communities and improving coordination among security agencies.”

“This facility is not to spy on you. It is to make sure every citizen goes about his or her duty without watching his or her back,” he assured the public.

“To our citizens who use technology online and other means to create panic and fear, the time for you to stop is here. And I can assure you, we will come after you. You will have to stop, or we will come after you. Now we have what it takes to track you, to observe what you are doing, to trace you wherever you are hiding.”

The minister stressed the need for a unified approach to security challenges, urging cooperation between the NSB and other key services.

He commended the NSB staff for their dedication and encouraged residents to support the new command, assuring them it is ready to protect the public and secure the country’s borders.
