Former Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare, has told the President of Ghana that he will not be allowed to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

According to him, the president’s claim that only one of the Agenda 111 hospitals was completed by the previous government is false.

He emphasized the need for the president to ensure he gets his facts right before divulging any information to the people of Ghana.

Dr Nsiah Asare indicated that before the previous government left office, three of the Agenda 111 hospitals were completed and commissioned.

Therefore, it comes as a shock to him that the president will claim only one has been completed.

He is of the view that if the president does not have an idea of how to fund the projects, he should just ask and stop being mischievous.

“As of January 6, 2025 when we left office, 101 of the projects had already started. 2 regional psychiatric hospitals and 99 District or Municipal hospitals. About more than 36 of them were over 70% complete. 3 of the hospitals were commissioned on the 5th of December 2024 by the previous government. He says there are no equipment in there but I know that there are beds and other equipment in there.

“The supply for those that are more than 70% complete have their equipment procured and when they are ready they will be equipped. When we commissioned, you guys took photos during the commissioning and saw that there were beds and others needed to run the place. This time around we will not allow people to throw dust into the eyes of the people. If he can’t do it…He is telling the people this so that he goes to look for money but I’m telling him the source of money is from budgetary allocation and from oil proceeds,” he said.
