A video of Ghanaian dancehall star, Stonebwoy, throwing money at fans on the streets of Ejisu has given birth to a hot conversation piece on the internet.

The celebrated musician was in Kumasi to perform at a show in Ejisu and, as part of his promotional tour, he hit the streets to engage locals and encourage ticket sales.

In a trending video, Stonebwoy enthusiastically tossed money into a crowd of excited fans.

The crowd quickly became chaotic as people scrambled and fought to collect the flying cash.

Stonebwoy’s previous public stance on the act makes the incident particularly surprising.

The “Bawasaba” hitmaker has, in the past, criticized celebrities who throw money at fans, describing the gesture as “senseless” and “disrespectful.”

According to Stonebwoy, such actions often lead to injuries as fans rush and sometimes clash while trying to grab the money.

Social media users have been quick to point out the apparent contradiction, with some expressing disappointment while others praised the artiste for giving back to his supporters in a time of economic hardship.
