Entertainment pundit and media personality Ola Michael has criticised a statement by Baraka Outreach regarding the death of gospel singer Jacob Adjola.
News of Jacob Yaw Mawulo Adjola’s passing made waves on social media on October 13, 2024, along with a “sign off” note which led to speculations that the singer had committed suicide.
Statements released by the family and the church called for an end to speculations and urged the public to allow the police to focus on their investigations.
However, the church’s statement, which aimed to debunk rumours about Adjola’s cause of death, has been labelled as “useless” by Michael.
Ola Michael argued that it is not within the church’s jurisdiction to confirm or deny the cause of death, stating, “That is for the police to do. It is also not for them to tell us what happened to the guy; that is for the family to do.”
He claimed that the church’s statement was an attempt to save face amid speculations surrounding the purported suicide note left by Adjola.
“They are doing it because of the suicide note that came out and the speculations. So they’re doing it to save face,” Michael asserted.
Meanwhile, the police have yet to come out with a report surrounding the cause of death of the musician.
Social media has been flooded with tributes for the late singer, with many expressing disbelief and sorrow.
