His wedding to Hollywood star Saoirse Ronan was an extremely private affair with no images of the ceremony having ever been shared publicly.
However, Jack Lowden’s on-screen nuptials are due to be watched by millions of film fans worldwide after images from his latest movie showed him tying the knot.
The Scots actor is set to star in new flick Ella McCay alongside an all-star cast including British/French actress Emma Mackey, and Hollywood stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Woody Harrelson.
In a trailer for the new film Lowden’s as-yet unnamed character can be seen marrying on-screen love interest McCay – played by Mackie.
The story centers around the eponymous, idealistic young McCay, who has to juggle her work and family as her estranged father, played by Harrelson, tries to seek her forgiveness.

Lowden, 35, grew up in the Berwickshire village of Oxton and has carved out a career with films such as Dunkirk and Benediction and well-received television shows including Slow Horses and The Gold.
He and Ronan, 31, met in 2018 when they co-starred in Mary Queen of Scots. They married in a quiet ceremony in Edinburgh’s Old Town in July last year, having been in a relationship since 2018.
The four-time Oscar-nominated star and the Scots actor held the wedding in an intimate setting just off the Royal Mile.
The private affair included a handful of the couple’s friends, who kept the nuptials under wraps, along with family.
The couple, who now share a £2.5million home in London together with their dog, Fran, have kept their relationship close to the chest over the years.
In 2019, a reporter for The Telegraph asked the Little Women actress: ‘Am I allowed to ask if you’re going out with the person that everyone thinks you’re going out with?’ Saoirse replied, ‘No,’ quickly putting an end to the discussion.
That same year, Lowden mirrored Ronan’s sentiments and refused to answer any questions about their relationship in an interview with ES Magazine.
‘Oh, I’m not going to talk about that. I don’t like talking about that side of life,’ he said.
