Heavyweight star Bakhodir Jalolov returns to action on October 6 as he takes on Russia’s Vitaly Kudukhov on a star-studded night of boxing at BETCITY IBA Pro 10 in Saint Petersburg.

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Jalolov (15-0, 14 KOs) was last seen in action claiming a dominant decision win over Igor Shevadzutskyi back in April, and ‘The Big Uzbek’ steps back into the ring once again as he looks to stake his claim for a blockbuster fight in the heavyweight division.

“I’m very happy to be returning to the ring at IBA Pro 10. God willing, I will give fans a beautiful fight and demonstrate my best qualities,” said Jalolov.

“My goal is, of course, to become world heavyweight champion. I believe that with my experience, I deserve to face the strongest fighters.

”There are many Uzbeks in Saint Petersburg who are also eagerly awaiting my fight. I will do my best to put on a great performance for you all!”

IBA President Umar Kremlev spoke of his delight at securing Jalolov’s services and promised fans an evening of top quality action on October 6.

“It is our great pleasure to welcome the double Olympic champion, Bakhodir Jalolov, to perform at IBA Pro 10 in Saint Petersburg,” said Kremlev.

“IBA Pro is interested in only the biggest names, fighters and events – and they do not get any bigger than Jalolov. Fans attending in Saint Petersburg are guaranteed an evening of top-class competition at the highest level.”

With the evening headlined by the eagerly-anticipated heavyweight showdown between Sergey Kuzmin and Murad Khalidov, IBA Pro CEO Al Siesta spoke of his excitement at adding a heavyweight of Jalolov’s calibre to an already stacked card.

“We have been calling this show ‘Heavy Duty’ – so to bring Bakhodir to the card only adds to the spectacle,” said Siesta.

“Bakhodir is already a legend of amateur boxing and is now unbeaten as a professional. It is time for him to remind everyone of his talents and there is no better platform for him to do this than IBA Pro.”

Jalolov, 31, is regarded one of the greatest super-heavyweights in amateur boxing history, having achieved two Olympic golds and two World Championship golds throughout an illustrious career.

His addition is the latest to an already bumper night of action in Saint Petersburg, with the undercard featuring Georgii Chelokhsaev’s Russian super-lightweight title bout with Vage Sarukhanyan, the return of world-ranked 140lbs contender Khariton Agrba and the heavily-hyped professional boxing debuts of Kamariddin ‘Kamil Karate’ Khasanov and Andrey ‘Wushu Master’ Efimov.
