The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has confirmed that all outstanding bonuses owed to the Black Queens have been settled.

The payment comes after the national women’s team threatened to boycott their second-leg clash against Egypt in Accra over delayed bonuses.

Following an emergency meeting involving Adams and Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku, the players agreed to honour the fixture on the assurance that the issue would be resolved after the match.

Speaking to Woezor TV after Ghana’s emphatic victory, the Buem Member of Parliament disclosed that the government had fulfilled its promise.

“Black Queens’ bonuses have been paid,” Adams said.

“The players have been given their cheques after the game against Egypt.”

The confirmation came on a night of celebration, as the Black Queens booked their place at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a commanding 7-0 aggregate win over Egypt.

Ghana won 3-0 in the first leg in Ismailia before completing the job with a 4-0 triumph at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team will now await the group stage draw for the continental showpiece, set to be staged in Morocco.

A semifinal finish at the tournament would secure Ghana’s qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
