There are major delays on Sydney‘s Spit Bridge in Mosman after a crash between a truck and a car.
Emergency services, including fire rescue, police, and ambulance, are currently at the scene working to free a man who is trapped.
An ambulance helicopter has also been deployed to the crash site.
Two out of three outbound lanes were closed following the crash at about 8am, with motorists urged warned to expect major delays and urged to avoid the area.
The man became trapped after his vehicle was ‘completely crushed’ by the truck, the Manly Observer reported.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Andrew Bewberry explained specialised tools were being used to free the person.
‘We’ve got a number of firefighters and FRNSW there using the hydraulic tools to cut this car apart … to get this person out,’ Mr Bewberry told 2GB.
‘Sometimes these miracles do happen, but at this stage we’re not there yet. Let’s just hope all that is coming together. The best efforts are being made by (FRNSW).’
