Ghanaian entertainment journalist Highest Eri has advised fast-rising musician Manye Fi to include Twi in her music if she wants to connect more with the Ghanaian audience and become successful in the industry.

During a panel discussion on Hitz FM, where Manye Fi was a guest, Highest Eri shared her thoughts on the artiste’s use of the Ga language in her songs. While acknowledging Manye Fi’s talent, she suggested that adding Twi would make her music feel more relatable to the Ghanaian audience.

“I think you should learn one or two Twi, let’s have a feel of that Ghanaian in your songs,” Highest Eri said.

She further explained that although singing in Ga gives Manye Fi a unique identity, Twi is the most spoken local language in Ghana, and using it in her music would help her reach more people.

“If you really really truly want to break through in Ghana, at least you forget the Ga,” she said.

Highest Eri also encouraged the musician to work with her team to help her add Twi lyrics to her songs. According to her, even small parts in Twi could make a difference in how listeners connect with the music.

“The Twi depending on the kind of lyrics you’re writing I think you’re with a team that obviously they can speak Twi and all that, they can give you a line probably just to which is in English in the song but it can tend to Twi like two lines or three lines,” she added.
