    Fit-again Cho Gue-Sung, who scored a brace against Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, has been named in South Korea’s squad for their upcoming friendly against the Black Stars on November 18, 2025.

    The striker is making a return from injury after spending close to one year and eight months out due to injury.

    He underwent knee surgery, but his recovery was not smooth due to a subsequent complication. He has since returned to action at Danish side Mittwilran.

    South Korea’s Head coach, Hong Myung-Bo, has also recalled on-loan Portsmouth player Yang Min-Hyuk for the first time in eight months.

    FC Nantes’ Kwon Hyuk-Kyu has also joined the squad for the first time this year.

    Key players like  Heung-min (LAFC), Lee Jae-sung (Mainz), Kim Min-Jae (Bayern Munich), and Lee Kang-In (Paris Saint-Germain) have been retained.

    Home-based stars like Lee Dong-kyung (Ulsan HD), Park Jin-seop, Kim Jin-Kyu (both Jeonbuk Hyundai), Lee Myung-Jae, and Kim Moon-Hwan (both Daejeon) also joined the squad.

    Three years ago, in the second group stage match held in Al Rayyan, Qatar, South Korea lost 2-3 to Ghana.

    South Korea Squad:

    GK: Kim Seung-gyu (FC Tokyo), Cho Hyun-woo (Ulsan HD), Song Bum-keun (Jeonbuk Hyundai).

    DF: Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), Cho Yoo-min (Sharja), Lee Han-beom (Mit Willan), Park Jin-seop (Jeonbuk Hyundai), Kim Tae-hyun (Kashima Antlers), Lee Myung-jae, Kim Moon-hwan (Daejeon Hana), Lee Tae-seok (Austria Vienna), Seol Young-woo (Trvenazbezda).

    MF: Won Doo-jae (Corpacan), Baek Seung-ho (Birmingham City), Jens Castrov (Mönchengladbach), Lee Jae-sung (Mainz), Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), Hwang In-beom (Feyenoord), Hwang Hee-chan.

    (Wolverhampton), Kim Jin-kyu (Jeonbuk Hyundai), Yang Min-hyuk (Portsmouth), Um Ji-sung (Swansea City), Lee Dong-kyung (Ulsan HD), Kwon Hyuk-kyu (FC Nantes)
