For the past thirty (30) years, Teacher Quarshie has dedicated himself to uncovering and nurturing talents from Tema and its environs.

Through the Royal Anderlecht Academy, Teacher Quarshie has produced some great talents for Ghana, some of whom have gone on to play for the national team.

The players include Benjamin Tetteh, Benjamin Arthur, Benjamin Otoo, Felix Ofori-Quaye, among others.

Speaking to the “Adventures of Minimsaah,” Teacher Quarshie opened up about the frustrations that come with his job.

He lamented that despite the number of talents he has produced, he has received little assistance to grow the team.

He mentioned Benjamin Tetteh as one of the players who returned to show appreciation for the role of the club in his progress.

“I have not had supporters; I do it alone. There is one Annan Mensah who has been supporting me occasionally. I don’t have mansions, but I do it for the love I have for the game.

“I have pains in my heart because there are players I have helped, but they don’t come back to help. I called them, but they don’t mind me. Only Benjamin Tetteh came back to make some donations to the team. Felix Quaye has also been helping. Benjamin Arthur also helped.”

Teacher Quarshie is, however, hopeful that one day a benevolent investor will come in and alleviate him of the financial burden.

“I have a lot of hope in these young ones. My belief is that one day someone will come out and help me. Sometimes I cry. I spend between GH¢2000 and GH¢1500 on matches, and I have to go around begging for help.”
