Hiplife legend, Reggie Rockstone, has clarified events surrounding a recent fire outbreak at one of his facilities.

In an interview on Joy Prime on November 19, 2025, Reggie explained that it was caused by a simple but dangerous mistake.

According to him, the incident happened after someone frying plantain accidentally fell asleep, leaving the food unattended on the fire.

“There were all kinds of rumours of how my place caught fire and what happened. It was human error.

“Someone was frying plantain, and the person went to sleep. She left the plantain on the fire and she slept off. Human error can happen to anybody,” he said.

Reggie disclosed that a young girl at the scene quickly stepped in to control the situation, preventing what could have been a tragedy.

“It’s a young sister who saved the situation, we would have been arranging for a funeral. It was from my kitchen. We have a main place we cook from that’s in Achimota. It wasn’t even on a busy day,” he stated.

Reggie described the experience as one of the most traumatic moments of his life, recalling how he received the news during what had been a quiet afternoon at home.

“It has to be one of the most traumatic things that I’ve experienced. It happened on a calm Sunday when my wife and I were home. My phone rang and they told me the place was on fire,” he added.
