The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of New Edubiase United Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu, has disclosed that some bigwigs in the Ghanaian football industry have threatened to take his life due to his criticisms.

According to him, veteran football administrator Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah informed him about the alleged plot because of his fierce criticisms of the current football leadership.

Salam Yakubu added that Alhaji Grusah advised him to recruit a personal security to safeguard himself from any attack that may come his way.

“I was told by Alhaji Grusah that some people within the current administration of the GFA threatened to kill me if I did not cease my criticisms.

“Alhaji Grusah advised me to consider hiring bodyguards for my protection,” the New Edubiase United CEO said, as shared by Oyerepa TV/FM on X.

Salam Yakubu has been critical of the Kurt Okraku-led GFA administration, voicing his grievances about setbacks that affect football in the country.

His club has still not made it to the Ghana Premier League as they face tough competition in the Division One League.
