    Solomon Twum Barima takes over as SIC Life Insurance Limited’s new Managing Director

    SIC Life Insurance LTD has welcomed Solomon Twum Barima, an engineer, chartered insurer, risk management expert, lawyer, and a certified loss adjuster with vast knowledge in risk assessment, underwriting, and claims management as its new Managing Director.

    On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Solomon Twum Barima, the newly appointed Managing Director of SIC Life Insurance LTD met with the company’s Executive Committee Members and all heads of departments during a handing over ceremony to welcome him into office.

    The event was graced by other dignitaries and well-wishers at the company’s boardroom in Accra.

    In his acceptance speech, Twum Barima expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his predecessor, Kwaku Appiah-Menka II, for his dedicated service and impactful leadership and the great feat SIC Life has attained.

    “I am an innovative person, my brain is always on the urge, let’s think outside the box and bring in revenue. We have to come up with new products to capture the market. Let us all work together for the good of SIC Life,” he said.

    He also stated, “We need unity, let’s forge unity, I believe in multi-party democracy, let us all come up with great innovative ideas and work as one. There will be no discrimination.”

    Twum also asserted that his doors are open and he is ready to work with everyone and listen to every opinion so far as it will benefit the company.

    Twum Barima is also focused on fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation and excellence for growth and success.

    He further stated his plans to directly engage with team members which forms part of his commitment to advance a collaborative, congenial, high-performing work environment with quick and responsive ways of working.

    The Deputy CEO, Daniel Kwasi Saforo. on behalf of Executive Management, in his welcome speech, pledged the full support of management and a smooth operation of the new Managing Director considering the work culture in SIC Life.

    He also added, “With your leadership, we will work diligently to achieve a common goal.”

    Heads of departments who were also present reiterated their support for the new Managing Director, Solomon Twum Barima.

    Twum Barima’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective and drive innovation, potentially enhancing the company’s market position and operational efficiency.

    He has over 22 years of diverse experience in manufacturing, insurance, law, risk management, and finance.

    In addition to his extensive experience, Barima holds an MPhil in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Ghana Business School, a BSc in Chemical Engineering from KNUST, and an LLB from the University of Ghana, further solidifying his capability to lead the company effectively.

    This change marks a new era for the company, promising to strengthen its leadership and strategic direction.

    Prior to this appointment, he made a substantial contribution to the organizational strategy and operational efficiency of GLICO General Insurance Ltd. while serving as its Chief Operations Officer.

    He is also a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, the Ghana Bar Association, and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana.
