Although the announcement has confirmed the March 5–7, 2027 dates, details regarding the venue, performing artistes, ticket prices and other activities still remain a mystery.
Our sources say that Sleeky and his team are putting together a list of top stars as they plan to make the 70th anniversary celebrations edition of the concert an unforgettable one.
This announcement sets the stage for what is expected to be a special edition of the concert, which seeks to bring Ghanaian music and culture to the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom and other music lovers interested in the country’s entertainment industry
It should be noted that the upcoming 2027 edition follows the successful staging of the 69th Ghana Independence Day Concert, which Sleeky Promotions organised in partnership with UK-based outfit 1957 Empire.
The event was originally announced for March 7, 2026, at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Manchester before being held on March 14 following a change in schedule.
The 2026 edition featured a strong Ghanaian entertainment lineup, including award-winning reggae and dancehall musician Samini, music duo Keche, Stay Jay, Kweku Darlington, Bobo Dada Bee, and dancer Incredible Zigi.
The programme brought together music, comedy and cultural celebration for Ghanaians and friends of Ghana in the UK.
Also, the outfit in the past has also worked on other international productions, including a UK concert featuring Ghanaian songstress Efya in March 2024 and a September 2026 London concert bringing together highlife legend Kojo Antwi and Ivorian music star Meiway in collaboration with Davison Band.
Sleeky, whose real name is Sadick Assah, has continued to build his profile in Ghana’s entertainment and events industry through projects aimed at promoting local talent and creating opportunities for Ghanaian performers to connect with audiences abroad.
As it stands, further announcements are expected to provide more information about the performers, venue, ticket arrangements and the activities planned for the celebration.
