Field staff of Skynet Express defeated their office colleagues 6–2 in a friendly football match in Accra to mark the 116th birthday of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
The field staff took control of the game early, scoring twice in the 15th and 17th minutes. They added three more goals before halftime to lead 5–0.
The office team reduced the deficit with two goals in the second half, but the field staff sealed the win with a late goal to end the match 6–2.
“We started strong, but the energy of the field team overwhelmed us. We’ll be back stronger next time,” said office team captain Richard Hofman.
Field staff captain Tuffour Simon Dapaah praised his side’s teamwork, saying, “It was a tough but exciting game. We showed what teamwork can achieve.”
Some female staff, led by Emilda Asante, called for inclusion in future sporting events.
“We also want to be part of these fun activities,” she said.
Skynet Express Director, Dr. Stephen Babson, thanked employees for their participation.
“This was not just about football, but about building unity, health and fitness across our teams,” he said.
Organisers announced that weekly health and fitness activities for staff will be introduced.
