A skier discovered a ‘portal to another world’ when they stumbled across a bizarre column of light during a snowstorm in Austria.
The seemingly otherworldly event was spotted on a slope at the SkiWelt resort in Austria.
In the video the oval-shaped ray of light can be seen glistering in the snowy landscape as skiers pass by, seemingly unaware of the bizarre natural phenomenon right next to them.
The strange discovery was filmed by TikTok user Lenka Lanci and the clip has since gone viral on the site gaining millions of views and thousands of comments from amazed people who speculated over what it could be.
Some users claimed it was a miracle and others claimed it looked like a portal.
Fortunately, there is an easy explanation for the video.
It is what is known as a subsun which is a very rare, but beautiful, optic display that happens when sunlight hits ice crystals in the atmosphere at just the right angle to create the subsun.
The large amount of snow visibly present on the ski slope coupled with the dark shadowy background behind the ray of light makes this subsun more visible than usual.
