Grammy award-winning singer Tems has sparked buzz online after purchasing a crocheted portrait of herself for ₦3 million from an artist who dedicated 70 hours to creating the detailed piece.

In a heartwarming post on Twitter (X), artist @If3oluwacreates shared photos and a video of herself holding a crocheted portrait of Nigerian singer Tems, a handcrafted piece she spent 70 hours completing.

According to the artist, the portrait was created to mark her first anniversary of learning crochet and was her first attempt at tapestry art. She expressed her admiration for Tems and shared her hope that the singer would see the piece.

“I hope @temsbaby gets to see this coz I don’t have much followers on here, but after 8925 Stitches and 70 hours, I finished this crochet portrait of tems, I made this to mark the 1yr anniversary of when I started crocheting. It’s also my first time doing tapestry. I love you Tems.”

In an unexpected turn of events, Tems came across the post and was deeply impressed by the artist’s craftsmanship. She reached out with excitement, asking if the piece was available for purchase.

Shortly after, @If3oluwacreates shared an appreciation post, revealing that Tems had bought the crochet portrait for a remarkable ₦3 million. She described the moment as the best day of her life, admitting she never anticipated such a generous offer.
