Veteran Ghanaian artiste, Reggie Rockstone, has commented on the issue involving Okomfour Kwadee.

Having battled mental illness for some years now, a new video of Kwadee popped up online, leaving many people worried.

After he was seen performing shirtless in the video, social media users and some Ghanaian artistes questioned why the music industry, including organisations like the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) are not doing anything to help him.

Amid the criticism, Reggie shared his view about Kwadee’s health in a video posted on Instagram.

He stated that showing love to Kwadee should not be the responsibility of the music industry alone, but rather out of humanity.

“I’ve seen some talk on Twitter and, you know, a little bit over here and there. And it feels like the public seems to be pointing their finger at the music industry, saying that the industry has to do something for him and all that. Everybody seems to be pointing the finger. And I just started to get irritated by this.

“The public needs somebody to point a finger at. And of course, yeah, he is a comrade musically. I get it. But you, the public, the ones pointing the fingers-what are you doing besides pointing the finger and talking?” the Grandpapa of Hiplife said.

“For years and years, this man made beautiful music for you. If anybody should be as emotional as y’all are acting, it should be you,” Reggie Rockstone added.

He further stated that Kwadee’s situation is unique and there should be a holistic effort to support him instead of people pointing accusing fingers.
