Police are no longer treating an Adelaide woman’s death as suspicious after the discovery of her body on Wednesday morning.

Laurel Floyd, 43, was found inside a unit in Christie Downs, where paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

‘Following results of a postmortem, the woman’s death is not believed to be suspicious,’ South Australia Police said on Friday afternoon.

When police arrived at the Rufus Crescent address, they also discovered a 54-year-old man they claimed lived with Ms Floyd and was in a domestic relationship with her.

The man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted the officers.

He is not accused of any wrongdoing in relation to the woman’s death.

He is currently in hospital undergoing treatment and will appear in court at a later date.

It comes after police earlier initially treated Ms Floyd’s death as suspicious earlier this week.

Neighbour Krystal Wall said she would be looking to leave the block of units following the incident.

‘I’ll be contacting the Housing (Trust) to transfer because it’s not really that safe an area,’ she said.

‘This is a second death here in the last three or four years now.’

Another neighbour, Casey King, claimed she saw Ms Floyd throwing belongings over a balcony a few days earlier.
