Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, and Newcastle United cruised into the Round of 16 of the Champions League, while Inter Milan were shockingly eliminated in a stunning outcome.

The Italian giants were stunned by Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt after suffering a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the San Siro on February 24, 2026.

The underdogs started the game fiercely, mounting pressure on their opponents, but there was no breakthrough as the first half ended goalless.

The second half began with the home side pressing for the opener, but Bodø/Glimt capitalised on a loose pass when Didrik Blomberg’s shot rebounded and was converted by Petter Hauge in the 58th minute.

Inter Milan revived their hopes in the 77th minute when Alessandro Bastoni leveled the score. However, their comeback attempt was foiled when Håkon Evjen scored to silence the Milan fans.

Bodø/Glimt booked their ticket to the Round of 16 with a 5-2 aggregate victory, eliminating Inter Milan in a major upset.

In other results, Atlético Madrid defeated Club Brugge with a 7-4 aggregate score, as Alexander Sørloth netted a hat-trick at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Newcastle United also recorded a convincing 9-3 aggregate win to eliminate Qarabağ FK, with Tonali, Joelinton, and Botman all on target.

Meanwhile, German side Bayer Leverkusen defeated Olympiacos 2-0 on aggregate.

In the upcoming matches on February 25, 2026, Real Madrid will face Benfica, Juventus will take on Galatasaray, Dortmund will lock horns with Atalanta, and Paris Saint-Germain will meet Monaco.

The Round of 16 draw will take place on February 27, 2026, to determine the fixtures once the play-offs conclude.
