A man recounts his mother’s amusing response to sophisticated dining in Lagos, highlighting her love for Amala and Ewedu soup, a notable cuisine in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In the video, the man @boy_iyanu1 noted that he had taken his African mother to a fancy restaurant but her facial expression when the food was served left him in stitches.

A mouthwatering and aesthetically pleasing meal including a portion of jollof rice, plantain, and spicy protein was served before his mother who wasn’t satisfied with the food.

As the man and his presumed partner noticed his mother’s reaction, they began to mock her before questioning the reason for her facial reaction. She responded in the Yoruba dialect that she preferred a plate of Amala to the fine dining.

His attempt to treat his mother to a fancy restaurant experience in Lagos was unexpectedly disrupted when she declared her preference for the traditional dish over modern cuisine.

The video has generated hilarious comments with many confirming that the elderly woman was upset about the meal’s price, not the food.
