Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet and CEO of Rufftown Records, believes the detention of Shatta Wale by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is a witch hunt rather than a case involving a stolen vehicle.

Speaking to journalists at EOCO’s premises on Thursday August 21, 2025, Bullet argued that the issue goes beyond the yellow Lamborghini Urus under investigation. He cautioned fellow musicians against celebrating Shatta Wale’s arrest.

“It is deeper than just a stolen vehicle. Every musician should wake up; they should not be happy he is arrested. It is not about Shatta right now—it’s about the system. It is trying to tell you that you cannot make money as an artiste. He has made genuine money from music. Now musicians have money, and it pains these people. Shatta Wale is the only person showing cars and houses. They want to tell you that now our industry’s money is visible, and the system does not understand,” Bullet said.

Shatta Wale was detained on August 20, 2025, by EOCO as part of investigations into the ownership of the Lamborghini Urus.

According to EOCO, the luxury car has been linked to a $4 million fraud case in the United States involving Ghanaian national Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is serving a prison sentence in Kentucky.

The car, seized in May, was flagged by U.S. authorities as proceeds of crime. On August 15, 2025 a US District Court in Kentucky authorised the US government to confiscate the Lamborghini as part of restitution for the fraud case.

Following hours of interrogation on August 20, EOCO issued a statement on August 21, 2025 confirming that Shatta Wale had been granted bail around 9 p.m. on the night of August 20, 2025.

“He was granted bail of GH¢10,000,000 with two sureties to be justified,” EOCO stated.

The Office explained that once the sureties are presented and verified, the musician would be released from custody.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the FBI and the US Department of Justice to trace the vehicle and determine whether there are any accomplices in Ghana.

There’s more to Wale’s arrest than meets the eye — this is nothing short of a witch hunt. Wale has been a pillar in the music industry, and we stand firmly by him – Bullet addresses the media#ghanaweb#ghanawebtv pic.twitter.com/TDhHbfRe0Z
