Shatta makes a quick u-turn after detention
Ghanaian Dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has made a quick U-turn about the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, after spending a night in detention at the cells of the investigative agency.
In his first public reaction after his release from EOCO cells on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Shatta added Raymond Archer and EOCO staff members to the list of individuals he expressed appreciation to.
On a live TikTok appearance, he expressed appreciation to the staff members of EOCO, saying, “To all the staff of EOCO, you guys have been wonderful. At least I came there, you guys really took me through the rightful processes that you know were needed, and I just want to say God bless you.”
Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, singled out the name of EOCO boss and appreciated him immensely, saying, “Mr Raymond Archer, I just want to tell you, you know, I thank you so much for your understanding.”
Meanwhile, these were the same persons he had lambasted and threatened to deal with mercilessly if they dared to invite him back to EOCO after the seizure of his yellow Lamborghini at the request of the FBI, which continues to stir up controversy.
After the seizure of his vehicle, Shatta Wale went berserk on August 5, 2025, and launched a scathing attack on Raymond Archer and other EOCO officials, accusing them of storming his house with guns.
He ranted, “You see, after this thing, erh, Raymond Archer, don’t come to my house, I go leave the car for your people, nobody sey them go fight me,” he stated in Pidgin and English.

Shatta Wale continued his rant on Facebook, where he took Raymond Archer to task and accused him of leading an armed raid at his residence.
He posted, “Raymond Archer, EOCO boss, ibe you go make NDC go out of power next 4 years? Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for!”
“EOCO boss, the President of Ghana didn’t put you in that office to come and humiliate the citizens of this country… God no go sleep!!” he added.
However, Shatta Wale, who is noted for running controversial commentaries, chose to thank Raymond Archer after spending a night at EOCO.
This time, his comments after his arrest offered words of appreciation to the same officers he loudly criticised and threatened on August 5, 2025, following the seizure of his vehicle.
