Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has finally responded to veteran musician Slim Buster following his recent comments questioning his musical talent and suggesting that his fame is largely driven by his loudmouth personality rather than his abilities as a musician.

Slim Buster, who has been in Ghana from his base in Europe over the past few weeks, has been granting several media interviews and making a number of statements about the Ghanaian music industry.

In one of his interviews, he targeted Shatta Wale and claimed that the Shatta Movement boss does not possess the kind of musical talent that compares to his or those of fellow dancehall stars Samini and Stonebwoy.

The veteran musician reportedly suggested that Shatta Wale’s popularity and influence have more to do with his ability to make noise and attract public attention than his actual musical abilities.

In response to this, Shatta Wale strangely appears determined not to allow the situation to develop into a direct confrontation with the veteran musician.

In a message shared on his Facebook timeline, the “On God” hitmaker appealed to Slim Buster to stop engaging in online confrontations, insisting that he had no reason to disrespect or fight him.

“Slim Buster, please, you know very well that I would never disrespect you,” Shatta Wale wrote.

The dancehall star further expressed surprise at how the veteran musician was allowing happenings on social media to get to him, suggesting that comments from other people might have influenced his decision to engage in online exchanges with fans.

“In fact, I am quite shocked at how you are allowing certain things happening on the internet to get to you,” he added.

Shatta Wale explained that whatever information Slim Buster might have received should not be a reason for him to develop hostility towards him, stressing that he would never deliberately disrespect the older musician.

“Whatever anyone may have told you might have triggered your decision to engage in these online battles with the fans. But I want you to understand one thing from today: I will never come at you with disrespect or hostility,” he stated.

The SM boss also pleaded with Slim Buster to stop treating him as though he was responsible for the controversy, arguing that social media discussions should not create unnecessary misunderstandings between them.

“I have no reason to fight you, and I believe we should know better than to allow social media narratives to create unnecessary misunderstandings between us,” he added.

Shatta Wale further defended his fans, noting that they would find it difficult to understand why Slim Buster appeared to be directing his grievances towards him when he had not publicly attacked the veteran musician.

He subsequently advised Slim Buster to exercise restraint when dealing with comments on social media, pointing out that not every criticism or opinion deserves a response.

“With all due respect, please put an end to this and rather take some time to understand how the internet works and how best to handle it. The internet is not an easy place, and not every comment deserves a reaction,” Shatta Wale advised.
