Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Senyo Hosi, has praised the founder of Legacy Rise Sport, Sharaf Mahama, for his efforts in organising boxing events.
According to him, the son of President John Dramani Mahama has supported and elevated the standards of boxing in Ghana through his agency, which organises international bouts.
The boxing promoter hosted the Battle of the Beasts event at the Bukom Boxing Arena, followed by The Showdown bout at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on December 20, 2025.

In this regard, the economist and policy analyst commended Sharaf for investing in boxing events that provide opportunities for local boxers to compete on the international stage.
Senyo Hosi called on the general public to support the initiative rather than criticise it unnecessarily, noting that Sharaf had begun this work before his father became president.
“Sharaf is a very fine gentleman. I think his boxing organisation should be supported by all and sundry. I am so proud of what he has done. He has brought hope to the industry and to those who had aspirations in that regard.
“Sharaf was actually doing this before his father became president, and it takes a lot. That young man needs support. He is not doing something just for himself; it is something that is transforming lives, so we should support Sharaf,” he said on Accra-based Channel One TV on January 24, 2025.
