Shalom NC dominated and won a special Quadruple Netball Championship played at Kodjonya at Odumase in the Eastern Region of Ghana on Sunday.

The competition featured clubs such as the winners Shalom Netball Club (NC) of Kodjonya, Future Stars Netball Club of Labadi, ASAAEF Netball Queens of Akwamufie and Crimson Hawk Netball Club of Odumase-Laasi.

It was championship played under the auspices of the Netball Federation Ghana (NFG) and intended to thrill fans of the sport across the country.

The build-up to the championship was characterised by assurances from the respective representatives of the four clubs, all vowing to emerge winners of the championship.

But when the championship commenced, it was Shalom NC that dominated and showed class, brushing aside every opposition mounted by their competitors.

Shalom recorded a 12-6 victory over Future Stars in the competition’s opener while Crimson Hawk NC also gave a good account of themselves in the first round of matches, beating Asaaef Netball Queens 7-4.

Shalom NC put up another spirited display in the second round game, beating Asaaef Netball Queens 14-4 while Future Stars NC also accounted for ASAAEF in a 10-4 verdict.

In the last round of matches, Crimson succumbed to a 6-11 defeat to Future Stars with Shalom NC returning to defeat Crimson 15-4.

Future Stars followed in second position, Crimson Hawks in third and Asaaef Netball Queens finishing in fourth position.

On the awards list, Future Stars duo of Nicholina Sowah and Princess Danquah swept the Best Player and Goal Queen Awards respectively, while Shalom NC’s Lydia Kpabitey won the Best Defender Award.

The event was sponsored by Nene Sarkinor Olepemer I.
