A man has been rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds from a violent home invasion in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services responded to an address on Hope Street in Seven Hills, about 33km north-west of Sydney’s CBD, just before 3am on Tuesday following reports of a stabbing.

A 56-year-old man reportedly confronted four individuals attempting to steal a red motorbike from his property.

During the confrontation, the 56-year-old was struck in the arm with a machete.

The suspects fled the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have established a crime scene and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
