The Central North Regional Police Command in Assin Fosu has arrested seven people during a targeted anti-drug operation in Dunkwa-On-Offin, Upper Denkyira East Municipality, Central Region.

The operation, led by Regional Commander DCOP Abraham Acquaye, resulted in the seizure of various illicit substances.

Among the items recovered were 69 compressed bundles of substances suspected to be marijuana, tramadol, and other dry leaves concealed in polythene bags and sacks.

Five suspected drug peddlers and two users have been apprehended, including 59-year-old Gifty Yeboah and her partner Kofi Essien.

Speaking to journalists, DCOP Abraham Acquaye called for community cooperation in tackling drug-related activities. He also urged the youth to avoid drug abuse and focus on building a better future.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before the court as investigations continue.
