The battle to sign Atalanta’s Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is heating up, with Napoli now entering the fray alongside fellow Serie A side AS Roma.

Both clubs have made initial enquiries about the availability of the 23-year-old attacker.

Sulemana’s future at Atalanta has come into question following a season of limited minutes under new coach Raffaele Palladino. Despite making 21 appearances, he has accumulated just over 160 minutes of playing time and contributed two goals and one assist.

The situation led Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, to state that the club would “calmly assess any attractive offers” for players struggling for regular action, a clear signal that Sulemana is available for the right price.

The Ghana international, who joined Atalanta in 2025 for a fee around €17.5 million and is under contract until 2029, finds himself in a familiar position. He previously commanded a €25 million fee when moving from Rennes to Southampton in 2023. His current market value is estimated at €18 million.

For Sulemana, a move could represent a crucial opportunity to reignite his career with more consistent playing time. For the interested clubs, he offers a profile of a dynamic, proven winger who could provide an immediate offensive spark.

Napoli is also reportedly considering Chelsea’s Tyrique George, suggesting they are weighing multiple options as the transfer window’s final days approach.

With direct competition now established between two of Italy’s biggest clubs, Atalanta is positioned to field offers and potentially secure a profitable deal for a player who has fallen out of their immediate plans.
