    President of Senegal Bassirou Diomoye Faye publicly celebrated the nation’s triumph in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with his two wives.

    In an image making rounds on social media, the president’s wives, Marie Khone Faye and Absa Faye, were elegantly dressed in traditional outfits, while President Faye wore a suit for the photograph.

    The three of them held the AFCON trophy together, smiling as they posed in stylish fashion.

    Afterwards, Marie Khone and Absa each held the trophy individually to pose for photos in a historic moment.

    Senegal on Sunday, January 18, 2026, were crowned Champions of Africa for the second time in history after beating host nation Morocco 1-0 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

    President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye received the players, the entire technical team and officials at the Presidential Palace to thank them for their services and putting smiles on the faces of the Senegalese people with their victory.

    The players and head coach Pape Thiaw were formally given state honors as they were elevated to the rank of Commander within the National Order of the Lion.

    Senegal have now joined the list of countries that have won the Africa Cup of Nations more than once.
