Antoine Semenyo has clinched the first major trophy of his career after Manchester City beat Arsenal FC 2-0 in the 2026 Carabao Cup final at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
The 26-year-old becomes the second Ghanaian to win the EFL Cup since Michael Essien – who won twice (2007&2008) with Chelsea
The Cityzens secured the title thanks to a quickfire brace from English youngster Nico O’Reilly, who struck twice within four minutes in the second half to seal the victory.
For Semenyo, the triumph marks a significant milestone in his career, having joined the team at the semi-final stage and contributing with three appearances and one goal in the competition.
The Ghanaian forward has also enjoyed a productive season overall, registering six goals and one assist for City, while tallying 17 goals and five assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
The Carabao Cup success now adds a major honour to Semenyo’s growing career as he continues to make his mark at the top level.
He has been invited by coach Otto Addo once again ahead of Ghana’s games against Austria and Germany in the upcoming pre-World Cup friendlies.
