The Mayor of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA), Lawyer F. F. Faidoo, accompanied by a delegation from the European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Local Government, paid a working visit to the construction site of the Takoradi Market.
The visit formed part of ongoing discussions regarding a proposed partnership and potential investment in both the current phase of construction and the upcoming Phase Two of the project.
The team toured the site to assess progress and explore avenues for collaboration aimed at enhancing infrastructure and supporting local economic growth.
Speaking during the visit, the STMA Mayor emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in driving sustainable development in the region.
“This project is not just about infrastructure—it’s about creating jobs, improving trade, and building a stronger local economy,” the mayor said.
Phase One of the market project is currently underway, with construction at an advanced stage.
Phase Two is expected to feature expanded facilities, modern amenities, and upgraded utilities to support the city’s growing commercial activities.
The visit marks a positive step in attracting international investment and aligns with STMA’s vision of transforming Takoradi into a modern, resilient, and business-friendly city.
