A Nigerian couple’s carefully planned wedding was devastated as floodwaters swamped their venue in Mgbedi village, Imo State.

In a video shared by the event decorator @Akonamfaith the exquisitely furnished wedding venue turned into a pool of water, ruining the décor pieces and the well-organized wedding area.

According to the event decorator, the wedding had to be postponed due to the heavy downpour that continued until nightfall. She mentioned that the guests and the couple’s relatives had a stressful day as a result of the unplanned flood.

The couple’s friends and relatives were seen cautiously wading through the floodwaters as they tried to seek shelter from the intense rain.

The devastating video has sparked divergent views on appeasing certain creatures before embarking on a celebratory event during the rainy period.

Many believed the couple should have looked into potential weather conditions, before choosing to hold their wedding celebration outside.
