Ghanaian gospel musician, Broda Sammy, has explained his reason for performing at a secular concert after severe criticisms by some netizens.

In an interview with JoyNews, Broda Sammy noted that he performed at the event hosted by Mimlife Records at Tema as a way of winning souls for Christ.

He explained that Christians already know the gospel, hence, his mission is to bring the gospel to those who may not be familiar with it.

“This is the place I am supposed to be because my God told me he came because of sinners. I haven’t said everybody is a sinner. We are all sinners. But here is the place I am supposed to bring the gospel. Not in the church.

“The church people know God already. So, I have to introduce my God to those who don’t. That’s why I normally come here,” he said.

In an earlier interview in 2024, Broda Sammy expressed his willingness to perform in drinking spots and nightclubs if invited.

He stated that he does not discriminate against non-believers and sees everyone as people deserving of the gospel.

He said he believes that nightclubs and drinking spots are prime locations for evangelism, as they attract individuals who may not typically attend church.
