Day 3 of the 2025 Tour du Ghana is taking place in Accra and other parts of the country as cyclists showcase their talents.

Some of the cyclists were spotted at the Accra Sports Stadium, seated and waiting for their turn, while others appeared to be carrying out maintenance works on their bicycles.

The competition kicked off with an opening ceremony and a 3.5 km prologue from Osu Castle to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, setting the stage for a journey that will test endurance, teamwork, and national pride.

The official flag-off was performed by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, with the support of Ghana Olympic Committee President, Richard Akpokavie.

Starting from Accra, the peloton will race through the Volta and Eastern Regions, before returning to Ablekuma, Accra on November 23 where President John Dramani Mahama will be waiting at the finish line to present the prizes to the winners.

This forms part of President Mahama’s Black Stars Experience initiative to make Ghana the hub of cycling in Africa and beyond.

The high-octane festival of endurance and culture will feature 172 cyclists from 12 international clubs, representing eight countries across five continents, alongside 36 race officials.

Across eight demanding stages in four regions, riders will traverse stunning landscapes, from the Volta Region to the Eastern Region and back to Accra.
