Ghana is still grieving the sudden loss of eight national heroes who tragically died in a military helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.

As the country continues to mourn, rapper Sarkodie has released a refix of a song originally composed by the late Highlife legend A. B. Crentsil in the 1980s.

The new verse, taken from the original track titled ‘Moses,’ has sparked conversation among netizens, as Sarkodie used it to offer words of encouragement to Ghanaians during this difficult time.

In a post shared on X, which accompanied lyrics of the song, on August 10, 2025, Sarkodie noted, “Felt like giving some hope to someone who needs it.”

In the under three-minutes track, the musician began by encouraging those facing life’s struggles to remain patient and content with what they have, as others may be experiencing even more difficult situations.

Sarkodie, known for his creativity, added around the 25-second mark that people should not depend on others for their success, as human beings can easily let them down.

He further noted that no one knows an individual’s destiny, emphasising that God is the lifter of men.

He also urged people to pray for life rather than chase after money, adding that many wealthy individuals have passed away, leaving all their riches behind.

“Wo da so tease d33 odasani nii biaa nim wo daakye. S3 sika b3 to wonsamu aa menua 3nfa ho be baabiaa who hy3 ase nti.

“Nti ka wakoma no to wo yem, Nyame ne mr3 ne mr3 pa. Wo ko wo kotodwe nim aa 3misa sika, kas3 nyame me p3 nkwa,” he said.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have praised the musician for giving hope to them and lifting their spirit in times of grief.
