Ibrahim Sannie Daara has slammed Kofi Adams over the Black Stars budget cut Ibrahim Sannie Daara has slammed Kofi Adams over the Black Stars budget cut

Ibrahim Sannie Daara, the former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has questioned the timing of Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adam’s press conference on the Black Stars’ budget for the games against Chad and Mali.

Addressing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Kofi Adams revealed that the GFA’s initial $2 million request for September’s double-header had been reduced to $1.3 million following ministerial review.

This according to Ibrahim Sannie Daara was wrong because no army in the world will announce the reduction of the soldier’s salaries on the eve of war.

The CAF Media Officer made this comment on social media and repeated it in an interview with Sporty FM on Friday, September 5, 2025, after Ghana’s 1-1 draw against Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“Which military has been so FOOLISH in the history of mankind to announce the reduction of the salaries of the soldiers on the eve of war?” Ibrahim Sannie Daara said as monitored by GhanaWeb Sports.

48 hours to the Chad game: Sports Minister Kofi Adams announces $5,000 winning bonus for Black Stars, with the remaining $5,000 to be given after World Cup qualification.

The Black Stars of Ghana on Thursday, September 4, 2025, suffered a major set back in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications after drawing against Chad on matchday 7 of the qualifiers.

Ghana after taking an early goal lead in the game were held to a 1-1 draw in 97 minutes of football at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena.

Jordan Ayew got his 6th goal in the qualifiers after connecting Kudus Mohammed’s pass into an empty net in the 17th minute of the game on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

However, with just a minute left to end the game in regulation time, Celestine Ecua got the equalizer for the home team after his shot deflected into the Ghana net.
