Samuel Inkoom has endorsed the Ghana Football Association’s decision to reinforce the Black Stars’ technical team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing the move as a sign of serious preparation.

Last month, the GFA unveiled five additions to the backroom staff. French coach Alain Ravera and Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren have joined as assistant coaches, while Spanish analyst Jose Daniel Martinez Alfonso will oversee scouting and match analysis. Carlos Lozano Romero returns as physiotherapist after serving at the 2022 tournament, with performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi completing the revamped setup.

The appointments have generated debate among fans, but Inkoom believes the expanded technical bench will boost Ghana’s competitiveness. Speaking to Connect FM, he praised the GFA and the Sports Ministry for prioritizing preparation, stressing that modern football requires detailed tactical planning and opponent analysis.

Ghana, making their fifth World Cup appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team and Panama national football team. The Black Stars will camp in the United States ahead of the tournament.
