The management team of Sampson Segbedzi has petitioned the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) to take disciplinary action against Isaac Commey for alleged unprofessional conduct during their bout on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Despite repeated warnings from the referee for low blows and other dangerous acts that violated boxing rules, Commey continued his misconduct, culminating in a headbutt against Segbedzi in the fifth round. The match was abruptly stopped due to the injuries Segbedzi sustained.

In a statement released by Segbedzi’s management team, they noted that although Segbedzi was declared the winner of the bout, they are demanding the GBA suspend Commey and order his team to reimburse GHC 10,025.00 for medical expenses incurred as a result of the incident.

The management team believes these actions would uphold the integrity of the sport and deter similar behavior in the future. However, the Ghana Boxing Authority has yet to respond to the complaint.
