President of Ghana Premier League side Young Apostles Samuel Anim Addo has defended his allegations against the Ghana Football Association relative to the officiating of matches of Young Apostles.

According to Sammy Anim Addo, his claims were factual and that the time has come for people in the football sector to speak up on issues affecting the Ghana Premier League.

Responding to the charge levelled against him by the GFA, Sammy Anim Addo stated that he would respond at the right time.

“I am a law-abiding citizen and I respect every rule of the game so when the time comes for me to respond, I will do that in accordance with the regulations,” he said on Joy News.

“But what I’m saying is that the video is there for us all to see. If it is good, then that’s up to all of us.”

Sammy Anim was charged with misconduct by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over allegations he made against the football governing body.

The statement, released on January 9, 2024, stated that Anim Addo’s allegations breached Articles 34(6)(d) and 38(8)(c) of the league’s regulations.

The GFA noted that since the allegations damaged their reputation. As a result, they have invited the Young Apostles owner to substantiate his claims.

“Samuel Anim Addo has been charged with breach of Articles 34(6)(d) and 38(8)(c) of the GFA Ghana Premier League Regulations, 2019, following his commentary on his social media account on X.

“It is alleged that his commentary in the said post constitutes misconduct, which brings the name of the Ghana Premier League into disrepute. It is further alleged that part of his commentary involved accusations against a match official without proof. He has until Monday, January 13, 2024, to respond to the charges,” the statement read.
