Former Ghana and Hearts of Oak winger, Charles Taylor believes his ex-teammate Sammy Adjei deserves to be the goalkeeper’s trainer for the Black Stars.

Since his retirement, Adjei has been in and out of football, but in an interview with Angel TV, Taylor reflected on Adjei’s career and the impact he could have had off the pitch.

“With the kind of performance Sammy Adjei showed in his playing career, if Ghanaians are being honest, he should be the Black Stars‘ goalkeepers’ trainer,” he said.

Taylor added a cautionary note on how Ghana sometimes fails to retain and properly utilize its football talent.

“Sometimes the way we live in this country buries talents,” he added.

Adjei, once Ghana’s undisputed number one during the early 2000s, was a key figure for Hearts of Oak, helping the club win a historic treble: the Ghana Premier League, FA Cup, and CAF Champions League, and later representing the Black Stars
