    Ghana’s fastest man, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu has qualified for the semi finals of the men’s 100 metres event at the ongoing 2025 World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

    Abdul-Rasheed Saminu qualified to the semi finals of the men’s 100 metres event after finishing 2nd in Heat 7.

    Saminu finished with a time of 10.09 seconds. The semi finals will be stagged on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 11:45 GMT.

    South Africa’s Akani Simbine won the race with 10.02s while the third position went to Kenya Ferdinand Omanyala. The Kenyan clocked a time of 10.12s

    Saminu also made the the semi finals in the men’s 100 metres at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

    His compatriot, Benjamin Azamati on the other hand couldn’t progress to the semi finals after finishing 6th in Heat 5.

    🇬🇭 National record holder Abdul-Rasheed Saminu clocked 10.09s to finish second behind 🇿🇦 Akani Simbine (10.02s) in Heat 7 of the 100m at the World Athletics Championships.
