Ghanaian media personality, Ohemaa Woyeje, has sparked conversations online after stating that Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, should be applauded for what she describes as her “smart” manipulation tactics.
In a video shared on TikTok on July 9, 2025, Ohemaa Woyeje stated that Nana Agradaa must be an exceptionally intelligent woman to have successfully deceived Ghanaians on multiple occasions.
She explained that although some Ghanaians had already become aware of Agradaa’s fraudulent practices during her time as a traditional priestess, she was still able to deceive many again, this time under the guise of a preacher.
“The way she has carried herself shows that she is extremely smart. The kind of brain she has could be used for more positive things,” Ohemaa Woyeje said.
She added, “When she was a chief priest, many people had terrible experiences with her. Yet she went on to establish a church and still got people to attend, despite everything that had happened.
“If she has been able to outsmart you, from a traditional priestess to a preacher, then she’s thinking ahead of you, and for that, she deserves some salute.”
However, Ohemaa Woyeje was quick to add that Agradaa’s actions should not be tolerated in society.
“Yes, what she did is wrong, and it should not be encouraged. But the fact remains that she managed to outsmart many people, and that alone shows a certain level of intelligence. She deserves an award for that, though not in a good way,” she stated.
Agradaa’s 15-year jail sentence
Nana Agradaa was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour on July 3, 2025, after being found guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.
Her conviction followed a 2022 viral video in which she claimed she could “double” money for individuals who attended an all-night service at her church in Weija.
