Undefeated Puerto Rican prospect Felix Parrilla (11-0, 8 KOs) has officially signed a multi-year promotional deal with Salita Promotions, in partnership with Universal Promotions, joining one of boxing’s most active and respected companies in the sport today. Parrilla’s first bout under the new partnership will take place Thursday, October 23, when he’ll face a tough test against Kenneth Taylor (15-5-2, 6 KOs) in an eight-round featherweight bout at the Coliseito Pedrín Zorrilla in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The fight is part of BIG TIME BOXING USA, airing live on DAZN and co-promoted by Universal Promotions.

Tickets for the event are on sale and can be purchased at: PRticket.com

Parrilla, a highly decorated amateur standout of Puerto Rican descent, fighting out of New Haven, Conn., compiled an impressive 72-16 record before turning professional. A four-time Western New England Golden Gloves champion, he also earned a bronze medal at the 2017 National Junior Olympics and was a 2018 Golden Gloves national finalist, cementing his reputation as one of the most accomplished young talents in the country. His dominance was recognized by the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame, which named him 2019 Amateur Fighter of the Year.

Now undefeated in the professional ranks and campaigning at featherweight, Parrilla has quickly become one of boxing’s most promising rising stars combining explosive power, technical precision, and the confidence of a fighter poised for world championship contention.

“Felix is a tremendous addition to the Salita Promotions roster,” said company President Dmitriy Salita. “He represents the next generation of Puerto Rican boxing, a fighter with skill, charisma, and championship potential. We’re proud to work alongside Universal Promotions to showcase his talent on the world stage.”

Founded in 2005 by Javier Bustillo, Universal Promotions has become the leading promotional company in Puerto Rico, producing more than 250 events and helping develop many of the island’s top boxing talents. The October 23 event continues the mission of highlighting Puerto Rico’s next wave of world-class fighters through high-quality, globally televised bouts.

“We’re excited to welcome Felix to this card and to partner with Salita Promotions once again,” said Javier Bustillo, President of Universal Promotions. “His skill and discipline embody what Puerto Rican boxing is all about, and the fans are going to see something special on October 23.”

For Parrilla, the signing marks a pivotal chapter in a career built on perseverance, passion, and a relentless pursuit of greatness. It also underscores Salita Promotions’ continued commitment to developing promising talent and delivering sustaining events in two of boxing’s most prestigious regions–Detroit and Puerto Rico–reinforcing its mission to grow the sport through global reach and cultural impact.

“This is the moment I’ve been working for,” said Parrilla. “To be aligned with a team like Salita Promotions and fight at home in Puerto Rico means everything. I’m ready to show the world what’s next.”

The October 23 BIG TIME BOXING USA event will feature an action-packed lineup of elite matchups headlined by Joshua James Pagan vs. Maliek Montgomery for the NABO Lightweight Title, along with Ashleyann Lozada making her highly anticipated pro debut in her hometown, all broadcast live on DAZN.
