Embattled Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Salifu Amoako, has condemned the attack on a journalist by some of his church members.

Some members of Alive Chapel International (ACI) reportedly attacked an EIB Network journalist on Thursday, 17 October 2024, after a court session following his son’s car accident which claimed two lives.

Speaking about the issue during a church service on October 20, 2024, spoke against what they did.

He labelled their action as disgraceful and worsening his woes.

Bishop Amoako also advised his church members to control themselves.

“Control yourselves, ACI family. I urge you to have self-control. Some of you came to the court to disgrace me there. You didn’t behave wisely. You have added more battles to my battles already. What you came to do at the court is very disgraceful. You shouldn’t have done that,” he stated in a video shared by Citi News.

“Do you know the damage you have done in my life? Now I am fighting what has happened to me, and the media is fighting me. The case is now in the court. We don’t go to court to fight, but we go there to interpret the law,” Salifu Amoako added.

Talking about the legal implications of their actions, he further stated: “Some of you were lucky that you were not arrested. Some of you went there to mess up. By now, you should be in jail. I have not called you to come and fight for me.”

Meanwhile, Bishop Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and one other individual were granted bail of GH₵50,000 with two sureties each by an Accra Circuit Court following the fatal accident caused by their son Elrad Salifu Amoako, 16.

Two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh perished following the fatal accident which occurred on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
